Abstract :
IEC61850, the international network communication standard for substation automation system(SAS), provides a means to implement the interoperability between intelligent electronic devices (IED) from different manufacturers and the systems seamless integration. The characteristics of the IEC61850 standard is analyzed, the applicability of the standard to the distribution network is fully considered, and Distribution Terminal Unit (DTU) modeling is achieved with IEC61850 object-oriented modeling techniques. DTU based on IEC61850 standard is the trend.
