  • Abstract
    The use of adaptive antennas in mobile communications base stations is discussed. They offer the potential of increased spectrum efficiency, extended range coverage and higher rate of frequency reuse. To further advance the use of adaptive antennas in mobile communications, an EC RACE project (R2108), code named TSUNAMI has been set-up. The paper presents an overview on this project together with its goals and achievements
