Abstract :
The pervasiveness of RFID technology raises some issues regarding security and privacy. Untrusted RFID system poses security threat because secret information can be revealed to any adversary platform by unverified applications or components inside the RFID system itself. The unverified applications can be compromised either by any virus or man in the middle attack. In order to strengthen the system security which includes RFID tag, reader and back-end server, integrity verification module should be implemented to create trust environment between them. The necessary back-end server and RFID reader with the embedded trusted computing technology will enable system integrity measurements and verifications. This paper reviews previous works on RFID protocols and highlights the importance of trusted computing technology towards in solving the privacy and security issues.
