Abstract :
The concept of closed loop programmable power is a spin-off of research work that is being spearheaded by the National Association of Home Builders in the United States in conjunction with the development of Smart House - a home of the future that combines the centralized microprocessor control of building systems and household appliances with the unified distribution of power and communications. Development work associated with the various technical aspects of Smart House is being carried out under the umbrella of the National Cooperative Research Act of the United States. This act was introduced in 1984 to allow American companies to pool their resources in the interest of advancing research and development without the fear of violating American Anti-Trust Legislation.
