Abstract :
The developed on-fiber technique, that makes part of an optical fiber into an electromagnetic field sensor and modulator, is presented. The principle of this technique is to replace the passive cladding material surrounding a short section of the fiber core with an active material, which is sensitive to electromagnetic fields.
