Abstract :
Optical generation of RF signals using correlated laser beams has potential applications for remote control and transmission of high radio-frequency local oscillator or data modulated signals over fiber. In optical heterodyne system, the phase noise of the beat note is linked to the cross-correlation between the optical phases of the beating lasers. Our experimental setting uses the FM-sideband optical injection locking method to correlate both slave lasers.
