Abstract :
Monolithic solid source MBE (SS-MBE) grown oxide-confined VCSEL capable of oxygen detection have been demonstrated. A higher single mode output power is expected with optimized active region and oxidation layer design and with the implementation of microstructure surface relief, which increases the single-mode operation range without affecting the series resistance or the thermal regime of the devices.
