Abstract
In recent years, a number of contrast media have been developed for contrast echocardiography. The most notable are SHU 454 and Albunex. These agents are potentially useful for quantifying myocardial perfusion. However, the fact that these agents can also be utilized for quantitative blood flow has never been investigated. Initial results obtained on various approaches to exploring the feasibility of using Albunex for measuring average and instantaneous blood flow are presented and discussed. These results indicate that contrast ultrasonic blood flowmetry is a viable approach
