Abstract :
This paper presents an inverse synthetic aperture radar (ISAR) image of a Boeing 747, which was produced as an early proof of concept result for work based on the Multi-Function Radar facility, situated at the GEC-Marconi Research Centre. In order to create a SAR image of a target, the target remains stationary whilst the imaging antenna moves. This creates a change in aspect angle of the target, relative to the radar, during the imaging period. For ISAR, this change of aspect angle is created by the rotation of the target while the radar is stationary
