Abstract :
The goal of the investigations was to check the self-consistence of the theoretical model describing both SCW modes in semi-insulating semiconductors developed earlier. Investigations of optically excited space charge waves (SCW) in single crystals of the sillenite family (Bi12SiO20, Bi12GeO20, Bi12TiO20) are presented. SCW are eigenmodes of charge oscillations in semi-insulating semiconductors in the presence of an external electric field.
