Abstract
This paper presents a 12-bit segmented current-steering digital to analog converter. In the thermometer current sources, a calibration scheme using combination selection of minimum-sized devices is used. The calibration method takes advantage of the statistical variations of transistor properties. Simulation results show that the calibration cancels static errors effectively, and the resulting INL and DNL values of the DAC are less than 0.3LSB.
