Abstract :
Satellite telecommunications is a constantly changing technology, applying more and more frequently such strategies as TDMA with Demand Assignment to enhance flexibility, adaptability, and performance for voice and data networks. This paper illustrates practical application of TDMA/DA to networks of sizes commonly encountered in present day communications design. Examples are provided demonstrating that efficiency gains in space segment requirements can be realized in varying amounts. The variations are a function of not only system traffic load and grade of service, but also the number of nodes in the network.
