Abstract
We have been investigating real-time lane line and forward vehicle detection by using a smart image sensor. We adopt simple methods based on 1-bit edge data for the lane line and forward vehicle detection to achieve real time operation at more than 1000 fps. We explain the method of lane line and forward vehicle detection on the smart sensor and describe the circuit and layout design of the new smart image sensor on which the proposed lane line detection is integrated. We also show the simulation results of some experiments.
