Abstract
In this paper wavelength conversion via cascaded second-harmonic generation (SHG) and difference frequency generation (DFG) in PPLN waveguides using an S-band diode pump laser at 1480 nm, is reported. The novelty of the result, in addition to being in the S-band, is the direct use of a high-power diode pump laser, as opposed to an EDFA-amplified diode laser pump, as is usually done in the C-band.
