  • Abstract
Rich oil & nature gas resources distributed in the deepwater fields will alleviate serious problems between energy supply and consumption. With the development of deepwater oil and gas field, the sub-sea electric power supply system for deepwater oil & nature gas production will get more and more applications in the deepwater area. The sub-sea electric power system is closely related with the distance and the loads. The distance between the offshore platform and the loads determines the length of the umbilical. The program of sub-sea electric power supply system would be varied with different power distance and power load. According to the features of the power load, the sub-sea electric power supply system could be classified as sub-sea production control power supply system which is to power the control system and sub-sea production power supply system for powering the high-power sub-sea motors. In this paper, it mainly analyzes the features of sub-sea production control power supply system with AC power supply, and proposes the method for designing the sub-sea power supply system.
