Abstract
A multi-stage, cylindrical launcher is being tested to demonstrate electrically-contactless, induction-launch technology for solenoidal coil geometry. The field model was developed by using the finite element method (FEM). This paper presents an analysis and optimal design of a capacitor-driven inductive coilgun to survey the effect of coils´ switching position on velocity of projectile.
