Abstract
The transmission and control environment for teleconferencing is a difficult one. Transmission impairments are multiplied; call establishment procedures are complicated. Time division techniques permit flexibility in connectivity and an easier implementation of control functions. They also allow sophisticated bridging networks for C3 applications and (perhaps) encrypted teleconferencing.
