Abstract
This paper deals with the application of adaptive parameter estimation and change detection tools for the detection of faults in the welding of steel sheets. Considering the non-stationary primary current signal, two kinds of fault have to be detected: abrupt changes and changes in the degree of non-stationarity. For this last problem, a method which uses a minimax approach is proposed
