Abstract :
Summary form only given. A single MAPS production contract has been awarded to Honeywell to supply the US Army with their Model H-726 model ring laser gyro (RLG) MAPS. Honeywell presented an extensive report of their full-scale development (FSD) test results at the IEEE PLANS 88 Symposium in Orlando, Florida. The author will present a brief summary of the FSD test results, detail the production first article test results, and describe the specification changes that have been made since the end of the FSD phase of the program. Also described will be some of the other applications for the MSP hardware, including the British Warrior observation post vehicle, the COBRA radar system, and the variety of Swedish vehicles that will use this equipment under the POS2 contract
