Abstract

The history of vacuum electron sources developed in China was briefly reviewed in this paper. The state of the art of the microwave tubes and the cathode application in these devices made in Beijing Vacuum Electronics Research Institute (BVERI), Institute of Electronics, Chinese Academy of Science (IECAS), Nanjing Sanle Group Ltd. Corporation and Guoguang Electric Group Corporation Ltd. were presented. Finally, the research plans in electron source field were also introduced.
