  • Abstract
Launched in June 2009 as part of the NASA Lunar Reconnaissance Orbiter (LRO) mission, the Mini-RF Microwave Power Module (MPM) exceeded its original operational goals in providing multifunction capability in S and X band for synthetic aperture radar and communications roles. The compact MPM-based transmitter was an enabling component in demonstrating that a small, lightweight synthetic aperture radar instrument can be developed and integrated as part of larger multifunction spacecraft mission.
