Abstract :
The goal of this paper is to present a new three-phase 7 kW rectifier module, which has been recently developed for the telecommunications market. Due to forced-air cooling and active power factor correction, extremely high power density (≈320 W/l) and low weight (≈20 kg) were achieved. Implementation of the most modern zero-voltage and zero-current switching techniques combined with application of state-of-the-art power switches resulted in very high efficiency (≈0.94). This together with high power factor (≈0.96) ensures optimal operation and low running costs of the rectifier
