  • Abstract
    Diode oscillator with a field-emission cathode placed in a photonic crystal resonator is considered. Start-oscillation current for the X-band oscillator design [1] is predicted theoretically and compared with numerical simulations using 1.5D PIC code. Simulations show rather high output power and efficiency for reasonable values of cathode current density.
