Abstract
The Trafficflow project, an initiative of the Adam Smith Institute and the Smith Group, has been established to start to answer the questions on road user charging schemes. Models of road charging systems, centred on those cities likely to be amongst the early implementers, provide the basis for a close examination of the financial, political and commercial characteristics of workable schemes. This paper reports on the emerging results from this project in relation to local transport financing
