Abstract
A single waveform for Demand Assigned Multiple Access (DAMA) for geosynchronous satellites uniquely provides service capabilities and interoperability. This permits resource pooling of the multiple accesses which, in turn, results in higher efficiency for a given grade of service. Basic DAMA structure is described, followed by a discussion of a proposed control and management architecture which preserves a hierarchical delegation of control authority to a set of geographically dispersed control sites. To match user size and space requirements, a family of multiplex hardware is envisioned.
