Abstract :
Some design considerations in implementing a CDMA technique in a mixed voice/data radio communications network are presented. Degradation factor due to mutual interference by simultaneous transmissions of m voice and data stations is introduced. A communication traffic model for the CDMA network is suggested. The network parameters investigated include the required signal energy to noise power density ratio Eb/No in the presence of m multi-accesses and the achievable number of simultaneous users m in a network of n users for a desired bit error probability Pe and grade of service Pm. An example of a mixed voice/data radio network demonstrates a possible feasible implementation of the CDMA protocol.
