Research on the Earth cover remote sensing problem carried out at the Altai State University

This paper gives a general scope of some principal results on the land cover remote sensing problem that have been obtained at the Institute of Ecological Monitoring at Altai State University over a period of five years. A description of the site, available data sets, and research facilities are presented. The review also contains a list of concrete problems under consideration followed by a concise description of principle results. Some perspective problems of land cover remote sensing in the Altai region are also given for consideration on an international cooperation basis
