Abstract
In this paper hybrid materials composed of cobalt chloride incorporated in polymer matrices were evaluated as humidity sensors and incorporated in integrated photonic devices. The optical design is based on transmittance and diffraction measurements, and incorporates a monochromatic optical source and optoelectronic detection components. The advantageous characteristics of the presented integrated sensor are the fully reversible behaviour, at ambient operating conditions, without the need for additional heating or light exposure.
