Abstract
The Australian National Database of Spoken Language is a collaborative project involving four active institutions and the explicit support of a wide cross-section of the speech science and technology community in Australia. The novel collaborative structure and procedures for selecting speakers, the material recorded, the recording environment, and subsequent annotation and descriptive procedures are described. A summary of the overall goals and the current status of the project are given
