Abstract :
The Uniform Linear Broadside and End- fire Antenna arrays in addition to main maxima, present a sufficient side lobe level which is not desired for antenna array applications. The grating lobes (unwanted maxima) can be avoided by restricting the separation between the elements less than the wavelength but the side lobes can´t be vanished despite at the cost of reducing directivity. In this paper such conditions are proposed for linear uniform broadside and end-fire antenna arrays which would cause the side lobes to vanish. Thus the antenna array would only have the main maxima and no unwanted side lobes under the condition. The idea is applicable for short arrays having fewer number of elements in contrast to the idea of improving directivity which is valid for very long arrays having closely spaced elements.
