Abstract
An examination of the problem of frequency management of a long range HF communication link has been carried out. For three months the HF communication channel from Slough, UK to Needham, MA was probed using a wideband sounding system. The results indicate a large variation, greater than 6 MHz on different days. These changes are shown to correlate well with the level of geomagnetic activity.
