Abstract
In this paper, the mode selection procedure leading to the design and the cavity resonator design studies of a 95 GHz, 100 KW, CW Gyrotron will be presented, such a gyrotron will be used for specific ECRH/ECRIS applications. In this course all the suitable modes with design constraints within the limits of design goals are considered and finally the TE10,4 mode is chosen as the operating mode which is suitable for the design. Design constraints are carefully investigated, and starting currents are computed.
