Abstract :
In this paper, study of microcavities in two dimensional photonic crystal slabs (2D PCS´s) has raised much attention and many successful designs have come up with Q factors ranging from 104 to 10 6 and modal volumes around a few cubic half wavelengths [(lambda/2nslab)]3. Here we will investigate the influence of some critical structural variations for high-Q cavities
