Abstract :
The most accurate methods that determine quantitative information able to enhance the precision of procedures of identifying a disease are invasive, or induce discomfort to the patient. Many research groups are studying the possibility of introducing new non-invasive methods with which a diagnosis can be made more precise. This paper presents one method that can be used to determine the strain of an inner body organ, based on echography analysis. Quantifying the deformation can help to determine the extent of the disease for patients suffering from cardiac abnormalities, when the heart muscle changes its volume and degree of elasticity.
