Abstract
A nonmagnetic thin wideband absorber in X-band is proposed. It is shown that by placing all the resistors and inductors in one layer and creating a multiple-resonance frequency selective surface (FSS) structure, a three resonance absorber can be established. This method leads to reduction of the total number of layers and subsequently lowered mutual coupling effect. The Design is performed only on two low-permittivity dielectric layers with an air distance between them. Reflection coefficient of the absorber is below -20 dB in the whole X-band, and the total thickness is λ/10 (3 mm).
