Abstract
A Shadow Registration is to reduce the interdomain handoff delay time in VolP services. It is established security association (SA) between the MN and AAA server in neighboring domains before the actual handoff occurs. However, Shadow Registration did not consider a MN´s moving direction, and caused problems such as unnecessary network traffic and data management involved with all neighboring nodes (AAAFn). We propose a new method that organizes Directional Shadow Registration Region (DSRR) to improve these problems. To organize the minimal DSRR, we divide a cell into three regions and compose a Shadow Trigger Region (STR). To get Direction Vector by MN´s moving direction, we sectoring a cell. Thus, moving MN´s shadow registration region Is generated dynamically. The DSRR requests shadow registration to neighboring node of maximum two (AAAF2). The number of registration can reduce Σ(n-2) times. Also, data and traffic management costs can reduce as ΣCost*(n-2) respectively.
