  • Abstract
    Research and societal questions in the area of mobility are becoming more and more complex, covering many different aspects of the traffic system. Simulation tools are an important aid in the study of such questions. Their complexity requires an integrated mixed reality environment, in which the tools are connected to each other and to external data sources. This paper presents the methodology and considerations for designing such a platform and one of its key constituent tools, a microscopic traffic simulation tool. This is applied to design the platform MOBYSIM, with the traffic simulator ITS Modeller.
