Abstract :
In view of the openness of the third generation mobile systems, the use of new software technologies is fundamental. Introducing mobile agents (MAs) within the network services such as mobile stations, mobile switching centers (MSCs), provides the necessary flexibility to enable the main characteristics of 3G systems such as the VHE concept, advanced reachability control and enhanced service delivery. To fully understand the dynamic service provisioning for a certain type of service call, both scenarios of incoming and outgoing calls are considered. In each scenario, all the participant agents and their associated relationships as well as the detailed workflow are specified. The proposed agent-based platform for dynamic service provisioning can greatly reduce the signaling traffic and service downloading traffic in the 3G mobile systems. Performance analyses of the expected traffic volumes for both signaling and service downloading are performed according to a probabilistic model of the proposed agent-based platform
