Abstract :
This paper presents the design of a compact high gain circularly polarized antenna for UHF Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) reader covering the global band 860-960 MHz. The antenna is composed of an axial mode helix mounted on truncated cone ground plane. The optimized structure has a total size of 800×800×300mm3 and delivers maximum gain of 16 dBic, standing wave ratio <;2 and axial ration <; 2dB in the 100 MHz of bandwidth.
