Abstract
This paper describes an experimental 500 W High Voltage converter with dual outputs for the operation of an X-band pulsed TWT. Though the design information presented in this includes inverter, HV engineering, magnetic and rectifier-filter of the power supplies, the main emphasis is on the feedback loop design. The feedback loop theory, its implementation to achieve the required regulation and ripple content of the HV supplies designed are included with more vigour. Many power supply designers employ trial and error approach when it comes to the implementation of the feedback loop and lot of effort and time is consumed in this process. A well designed feedback loop with accurate elements and their value computation gives a good starting point and in implementation saves lot of effort and enables us to achieve the desired results in terms of regulation and ripple reduction.
