Abstract :
The paper deals with particle substances generated during laser cleaning of art works. The emission of air contaminants during laser processing of various materials in industry has been extensively investigated during the last decade. Unfortunately, this does not apply to the application of laser ablation in encrustation removing within the renovation and restoration processes of art works. The chemical composition issues as well as the amount of emitted pollutants are poorly diagnosed until now. Thus, the goal of this work was to make such preliminary evaluations and to provide the laser users information on the potential hazards and suitable safety measures
