Abstract
This paper presents a study of a non-conventional topology of axial flux machine for electric vehicle application using a hybrid excitation brushless system. In this type of motor both a high power and also a high torque densities are required, due the fact that the space is reduced in the vehicle as well in order to provide an excellent torque response. Hence the behavior of both mechanical and electromagnetics amounts of the machine were investigated.
