Abstract
This article presents the results reached from voltage unbalance factor (VUF) calculations considering nine distinct forms for dealing with signals from voltage measurements. First, each signal processing method used in this article for quantifying unbalance is defined. Next, these methods are applied in computational simulations where there are sinusoidal waveforms with random unbalanced amplitudes. From this point, the extent to which differences among signal processing procedures have an impact on quantifying voltage unbalance is evaluated. Carrying out the investigations as proposed in this article is of the utmost importance for choosing, satisfactorily, indexes and norm limits that examine voltage unbalance.
