Abstract
Compares the Gamma filter with other feedback and feedforward structures in the problem of echo cancellation for digital data communication in the subsciber loop. The authors show that the IIR structures perform better than the corresponding FIR structures, and that the Gamma filter adapts faster than the cascade structure. They also show how the Gamma filter can be adapted using RLS for the filter weights and block LMS for the recursive parameter
