Abstract
DSP applications are characterized by the presence of a dedicated DSP and specific embedded software that runs on it. As the complexity of DSP applications grow rapidly, great demands are placed to perform more and more data intensive computations. The multi-dimensional requirements that are emerging in commercial DSP products such as cost, time-to-market, size, power consumption, latency, and throughput, further increase the challenge of DSP software implementation. Therefore to learn and apply best engineering practices on how to write and optimize DSP program is becoming very much essential.
