Abstract :
Summary form only given, as follows. Prof. Zhong Chen´s main research interest is on Thin Films, Surface & Interface, including nano-structured thin films, thin films for microelectronic and energy applications, protective and functional surface coatings, joining, and experimental and computational mechanics of thin films & multi-layers. He has authored and co-authored over 140 journal and conference publications, 32 confidential technical reports, and 3 patents (2 in US and 1 in Taiwan). Currently Prof. Chen is an elected member of TMS (USA) and a member of MRS (Singapore). He sits in editorial advisory board of Circuit World journal, and is an editorial member of International Journal of Physical Sciences. He has served as reviewer for more than 20 international journals such as Applied Physics Letter, Engineering Fracture Mechanics, IEEE Transactions on Advanced Packaging, Journal of Electronic Materials, Journal of Materials Research, Surface and Coatings Technology, Materials Science and Engineering A & B, Scripta Materialia and Thin Solid Films. Prof. Chen has also served for many international conferences as organizer, session chair, and member of scientific committee. Over the years, he has collaborated with, and provided consultation on materials and device reliability issues for many companies, including Alcan, Agilent, AMD, Amkor, Avagotech, Chartered Semiconductor, HP, Micron Semiconductor, Perkin-Elmer Optoelectronics, and Qualitek, etc. Currently Prof. Chen is Associate Professor of School of Materials Science and Engineering, Nanyang Technological University in Singapore.
