Abstract :
This paper presents a novel application of in-situ dynamic reconfiguration to a multi-channel complex code matched filter. The filter forms the first stage of a UMTS basestation´s searcher partition. New configuration data is generated on-chip and loaded into the active circuitry in parallel to operation using the Xilinx Virtex families SRL16 functionality. Data-folding (Foulk, 1993) produces reconfiguration frequencies in excess of 7 MHz without interrupting computation. Implementation results show a 33% saving in LUTs over the static equivalent, with the same maximum clock frequency
