Abstract
The optimal operating policy to obtain the time minimal operation for RFB fermentation processes is studied in the ideal case. An indirect adaptive control scheme is proposed to ensure stability of the system and of the process parameters in order to realise a suboptimal (almost time minimal) control of the RFB fermentation
