Abstract :
The objective of this paper is to summarise the most advanced projects currently funded under the IST (information society technologies) programme of the European Commission, in the domain of mobile and personal communications and satellite systems. The research priorities for the next years related to wireless communications are then explained with reference to the projects already approved in each specific area
