Abstract :
Order statistic-based algorithms for calculating detection thresholds have been investigated previously. The author extends previous analyses of these algorithms to determine closed-form approximations for the signal-to-noise ratio required to achieve a particular probability of detection in environments whose amplitude statistics are modeled by the Weibull distribution. Performance is evaluated in both homogenous and inhomogenous noise. The analysis shows that the order statistic-based algorithm is quite robust against interference
